Samuel has extensive experience in various practice areas as a lawyer and he advises a broad cross-section of clients including insolvency practitioners, commercial landlords, property developers, real estate agents, large banks, insurers and lenders.

Samuel was admitted as a solicitor in December 2004 and started his career as a front-end transactional lawyer at Allens Arthur Robinson (now Allens), before moving to Clifford Chance in Milan in the Capital Markets team. During his time in Milan, he was seconded as in-house counsel to the investment banking team of Credit Suisse in Milan.

Before returning to Australia, Samuel undertook a Master's Degree in International Human Rights Law at the Åbo Akademi Institute for Human Rights in Finland. This interest in Human Rights Law has translated into experience in some of the most significant human rights cases in Queensland.

Upon returning to Australia, Samuel practised in litigation as a solicitor in national mid-tier firms, before being called to the Bar and practising as a barrister from November 2016 until joining Agility Law Group as a Partner in October 2024.

As a barrister, Samuel was involved in several unique cases for insolvency practitioners. He particularly enjoys conducting public examinations as advocate and was involved in a number of significant public examinations as a barrister, including conducting the examinations for the liquidators of the Remi Capital Group.

Samuel has experience in administrative law matters, particularly in conducting judicial review applications of administrative decisions, primarily for applicants. He has also been involved in a number of pro bono cases and is currently Chairperson of the Management Committee of Prisoners' Legal Service.
